    Where can I download the latest version of Vericut?

    Click the button below to request the download instructions. Note: The Vericut upgrade is only available to customers on a current maintenance plan. If you’re maintenance has expired, click here to contact CGTech.

    What is a Platform/Operating System?

    Platform/Operating System refers to the combination of computer hardware and software on your system. Vericut 7.x runs on Windows. Vericut-supported operating systems include Windows 7 & XP (32 and 64 bit) on Intel Pentium or 100% Pentium-compatible platforms.

    What is a licence file and why do I need one?

    A licence file is a file stored on your computer that contains “codes” or “keys” that allow access to Vericut and Vericut options. It is generated by CGTech and is required to run Vericut products.

    All users must submit a Licence Request form. Upon receipt, CGTech will send Licence codes via email, which you subsequently save into a Licence file on your system (directions are included with the Licence file email).

    What is my company ID?

    CGTech company ID is a unique number assigned to all accounts. Six digit customer ID’s begin with ‘10xxxx’, and five digit reseller I D’s begin with ‘30xxx’,’20xxx’ for Demo Sites. This ID is in Verciut licence files, packing slips, and mailings sent to your company from CGTech.

    What is a Host Name?

    A Host Name is the name of the computer that will run the Vericut licence server process, as it is identified on your network. Should you have any problems retrieving the proper Host Name information, please contact technical support.

    What is a Host ID?

    A Host ID is the unique network ID number or system ID of the target computer that will run the Vericut licence server process.

    How do I find my Host ID?

    Windows must have the following components installed:

    • Network Card – in the licence server computer- TCP/IP – bound to network card

    A valid Windows Host ID is 12 characters and contains only 0-9 numbers and A-F alpha characters
    A utility program called hostinfo.bat is provided with the Vericut installer. This program displays the Host ID.

     

    If you do not have access to the Vericut installer, you can do the following:

    Windows 7/Vista/XP

    • From a Command Prompt window type:ipconfig/all
    • Report 12 character Physical Address value found under the Ethernet adapter Local Area Connection section. e.g.: “00-AA-00-A8-D8-98”

    Should you have any problems retrieving the proper MAC Address information, please contact Technical Support.

    Can I install Vericut on a Virtual Machine Licence Server?

    Important information about using Vericut’s Licence Server on a Windows Virtual Machine

    If your company does not utilize Virtual Machines, you can stop reading now. If you intend to install Vericut’s Licence server on a Virtual Machine, you must tell us. A standard Vericut Licence will not work from a Virtual Machine. If your current Licence server is running on a Virtual Machine, please fill out the short form found here to request a Licence that is enabled for Virtual Machines.

    If you have multiple Licence servers and some of them are not Virtual Machines, please indicate which ones are Virtual Machines, in the Notes / Special Instructions on the form. There is no additional charge for a Virtual-enabled Licence.

    Do I need a special licence if my client computers are different computer type than the licence server?

    If your client computer is a different type than the Licence server computer, select the platform types in the ‘Additional Computers’ section of the Licence Request form and those platforms will be added to your Licence.

    How do I find my “Host ID” for Windows?

    Windows 7/Vista/XP

    10.
    What is a Redundant Server?

    Redundant server uses three (3) computers that communicate with each other to act as one logical Vericut licence server. A redundant licence server requires that you request special licensing.

    Three separate computers and corresponding host IDs and host names must be provided. The three computers do not have to be the same platform type. Please contact your Sales Engineer for more information.

    How do I transfer my Vericut licence to a new server?

    Complete the Licence Request on our web site. At the bottom of the form, be sure to complete the Licence Transfer section. Include the host ID of the new Licence server as well as the host ID of the old Licence server.

    Customers with current maintenance may apply for a Licence transfer. Contact your CGTech representative regarding the status of your maintenance contract.
