Teams from Vericut and Seco Tools were honored at the 2025 Sandvik Annual General meeting with the prestigious "Sandvik Sustainability Award in Memory of Sigrid Göransson", recognising a collaboration that provides a significant contribution to sustainable manufacturing. The award celebrates innovations that have a measurable and lasting impact on environmental, economic, or social sustainability within Sandvik and its communities.
Jodie Cosby, Scott Ravenscroft, David Magnall and Luke Manders were recognised for a collaboration between Vericut and Seco, and its significant contribution to reducing environmental impact in machining.
By optimising numerical control (NC) programs using Vericut Optimizer, manufacturers can reduce cycle times, material waste, energy consumption, operational costs, and tool wear. Combined with Seco's efforts to improve product circularity, the solution helps customers operate more efficiently and sustainably.
In tests, the solution reduced machine energy consumption by 18% and showed a substantial increase in tool life.
The Sandvik Sustainability Award in Memory of Sigrid Göransson is presented annually to honor innovations that advance Sandvik’s legacy of sustainability and community involvement. Vericut Optimizer's recognition highlights the pivotal role of digital solutions in achieving sustainable manufacturing practices.
