At the 2025 Sandvik Annual General Meeting, Vericut and Seco Tools received the esteemed Sandvik Sustainability Award in Memory of Sigrid Göransson. The recognition highlights their joint efforts in advancing sustainable manufacturing through innovations that deliver measurable, long-term benefits for environmental, economic, and social sustainability across Sandvik and its communities.
Jodie Cosby, Scott Ravenscroft, David Magnall, and Luke Manders were honored for their joint work between Vericut and Seco, which has made a notable impact in lowering the environmental footprint of machining.
Through the use of Vericut Optimizer to refine NC programs, manufacturers can achieve shorter cycle times, minimize material waste, cut energy usage, lower operating costs, and extend tool life. When combined with Seco’s initiatives to enhance product circularity, the result is a powerful solution that enables customers to operate with greater efficiency and sustainability.
Testing demonstrated an 18% reduction in machine energy consumption, along with a significant improvement in tool longevity.
Presented each year, the Sandvik Sustainability Award in Memory of Sigrid Göransson recognizes innovations that uphold Sandvik’s long-standing commitment to sustainability and community engagement. The acknowledgment of Vericut Optimizer underscores how digital technologies are driving progress toward more sustainable manufacturing.
