Irvine, CA – [June 30, 2025] – CGTech has announced the launch of Icam Suite V26, featuring significant advancements in post-processing automation, tool and diagnostic management, and deeper integration with Vericut to boost manufacturing accuracy and efficiency.
With Icam V26, users gain access to robust new capabilities designed to simplify setup, strengthen traceability, and optimize workflow from NC programming through post-processing to simulation — improving safety while reducing programming time.
Advanced Automation and Look-Ahead for Post-Processing
The new release introduces an intelligent rotary axis clamping/unclamping algorithm that automatically adjusts clamping according to axis motion and operation type. A new predictive “look-ahead” function enhances control at the beginning of each operation, made possible through an updated CLAMP section in the Questionnaire and new system variables for advanced customization.
Additionally, Icam V26 debuts $FCLINFO(), a high-speed macro function for selective look-ahead of cutter location data. This provides the benefits of $FINFO() but with greatly improved processing speed.
Enhanced Diagnostic Control and Visibility
Diagnostics in the latest release are now more configurable and easier to interpret. A new event macro lets users intercept diagnostic messages — including warnings, errors, and fatal alerts — before they appear, making it possible to adjust severity levels or suppress non-critical notifications. This provides post developers with greater control over system communication.
Additionally, both GENER and CERun now feature distinct color coding for diagnostic messages, enabling users to quickly identify severity levels at a glance. These colors can be personalized via the Preferences dialog.
Improved Tool Identification and Toolchange Handling
Icam V26 enhances how tool names are handled during tool changes, ensuring consistent recognition across all Icam products — from Quest and Virtual Machine to NC post-processors. A new Questionnaire option now accommodates NC programs that use tool names rather than tool numbers, while a REG_TOOL alias ensures accurate indexing and referencing throughout the workflow.
Smooth Vericut Integration for Enhanced NC Code
For users of Icam and Vericut, V26 delivers a smoother process with improved precision and performance:
- Import Vericut Project data directly into the GENER launch panel to set machine limits and tool lengths during post-processing, no simulation needed.
- Optimize feedrates ahead of post-processing via the “Optimizer” tab using Vericut Optimizer or Force. GENER outputs G-code from optimized cutter location data, minimizing rework and ensuring compliance with strict procedures.
Additional Enhancements in Icam V26
- Enhanced LCS/AUTO generation now better activates tilted planes for multi-axis drilling and improves compatibility with motion paths from path planning, rotary turn-around, and SmartPATH.
- New SmartPATH command improves motion during tool changes and home reference positioning when exiting and re-entering the work envelope. Allows defining bounding geometry for safer approach calculations.
- Enhanced multi-level debugging in GENER, provides clearer insights into cycles, circular interpolation, threading, and SmartCUT at debug Level 2.
Built for Precision and Flexibility
“Icam Suite V26 is about smarter automation and deeper integration,” said Patrice Bastien, R&D Manager (Post-Processor). “We’re making it easier for manufacturers to configure, control, and trust their NC output — while leveraging the full power of Vericut and Icam together in a seamless environment.”
